Hi there — I’m Glenn Roberts,
owner and artist behind Sod House Studio.
This little studio is the result of two lifelong passions: a deep love for history and a fascination with the natural beauty
of stones and minerals.
I grew up a Kansas farm boy, raised on stories of the Sod House Frontier — tales passed down by my grandparents and neighbors that painted vivid pictures of resilience, craftsmanship,
and life on the plains.
Some of my best childhood memories include hunting for fossils and rocks along the Smoky Hill River on Sunday afternoons, always curious about the stories they held.
Over time, that curiosity became research. I found myself exploring old sod house sites, digging for artifacts, and learning more about the layers of history hidden beneath our feet.
Eventually, it all came together—history, heritage, and a love for stones. I began creating handmade jewelry that blends these powerful stories with the natural beauty of gemstones. Each piece is crafted with intention, heart, and a little bit of prairie magic.
My hope? That every piece becomes a treasured keepsake in your family’s story—just as they’ve become in mine.
So come on in. Take a look around. And stay awhile.
Welcome to Sod House Studio.
